Deutsche Chor

The German Choir of London, founded in 2009, has established itself as one of London’s leading amateur choirs. In a sociable, friendly atmosphere, we perfect classical German choral masterpieces such as Bach’s St Matthew Passion, Brahms’ German Requiem and Orff’s Carmina Burana, as well as contemporary music and commissioned pieces of composers around the globe. Rehearsals are in German. The choir has performed in some amazing venues around London, Paris, Brussels and Rome. Our projects often involve collaborations with cultural institutions and explore topics and themes of social or historical importance – we make music with a meaning.

London Bulgarian Choir

Led by native Bulgarian singer Dessislava Stefanova, former member of the Philip Koutev Bulgarian Folk Ensemble, the London Bulgarian Choir takes us on a journey around Bulgaria, exploring the landscapes of the voice and the creative traditions of this land.

Dessi and the rest of the choir invite you to join them in finding that ancient resonance in the depth of the human heart.

Promin Nadii Ukrainian Choir

The Ukranian Cathedral Choir London was organised and first sang publicly during the Easter services in 2000, under the direction of Petro Kochanskyy. On the 2nd February 2006, with the blessing of Bishop Paul Chomnycky, the choir was named "Promin Nadii" or "Ray of Hope". The choir is proud to count a contemporary composer, Hryhoryy Kurtseba, among its ranks. Kurtseba's score of the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom was first performed on the 30th July 2006; it has since been sung by numerous choirs in Ukraine and the United States.

"Promin Nadii" regularly performs at various Ukrainian community events, including concerts in London, Gloucester, Wolverhampton, Nottingham, and in Tarasivka. Through its musical efforts, the choir also educates English audiences about the rich history and spirituality of sacred Ukrainian choral music. The choir sings the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral each Sunday at 12am.

Ulrika Eleonora Church Choir

The church choir rehearses every Wednesday from in Ulrika Eleonora Church and participates once or twice a month in Sunday high mass. The repertoire is very broad, with an emphasis on church music from all eras. In December, the choir performs a series of Lucia services in Ulrika Eleonora Church, Brighton/Hove, Southwark Cathedral, St Marylbone Parish Church and in Westminster or St Paul's Cathedral. The choir also gives a popular and well-attended spring concert in Ulrika Eleonora.

London Latvian Choir

The London Latvian Choir is the oldest Latvian choir in the UK, having been founded by the Latvian composer and conductor Alberts Jērums in August 1948. Since then it has enjoyed a diverse and colourful life, participating in all of the Latvian Song festivals in England and Europe, in Canada in 1970 and Latvia in 1990. The choir has performed in nearly all the Latvian Independence day celebrations in London and has represented Latvia in numerous international events. At its peak, the choir had over 70 members.

Ave Verum Polish Choir

The Ave Verum choir comprises around 25 music enthusiasts of Polish descent from all walks of life. Formed in 1999 by Jurek Pockert, this amateur choir shares a love of Polish culture and the joy that music brings to all. As a concert choir, Ave Verum performs a wide variety of music both sacred and secular, in styles ranging from classical works, through opera, to jazz and popular music. They have performed in some magnificent venues including Westminster Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Malbork Castle and the Church of the Holy Cross in Warsaw where the heart of Frédéric Chopin is interred in a pillar. More recently Ave Verum took part in Moniuszko’s opera ‘Straszny Dwór' performed in POSK and in the Polish Gala Concert 'Sto Lat' at the Royal Albert Hall, both conducted by Steven Ellery. The choir has won several awards culminating in receiving the ‘Gloria Artis’ from the Polish Government in 2017.

Côr Y Boro (The Borough Welsh Choir)

Côr Y Boro | Borough Welsh Choir is a mixed-voice community choir based at Capel y Boro, the Borough Welsh Congregational Chapel on Southwark Bridge Road. The choir has performed its eclectic mix of music in both English and Welsh at Buckingham Palace, Downing Street, The Shard, the Golden Hinde, London's new super-sewer, and many more places around London and in Wales. The history of the choir dates back more than 100 years and the choir won the prestigious National Eisteddfod competition back in 1929. Always open to new members, the choir rehearses every Tuesday evening at 7pm at the Borough Chapel.

Musical director, Catrin Barker hails from Swansea where she sang with the National Young Choir of Wales and Swansea Bach Choir. A fluent Welsh speaker, Catrin conducted the Elizabethan Madrigal Singers while studying at Aberystwyth University, and the Riyadh Chamber Choir while working as a teacher in the Middle East. She's sung with numerous London choirs since first moving to the captial in 2006, and has been the MD of Côr Y Boro since August 2022.
